FileMaker and Snow Leopard Recap

Just to recap last issue’s article on the compatibility between FileMaker and Snow Leopard: Apple has made a fairly massive update to it operating system with the release of OSX 10.6. The operating system is highly optimized, and feels much faster than its predecessor, 10.5. The rub with any operating system upgrade is that sometimes things get broken. If you’re continuing to use an older version of FileMaker Pro, we recommend you do not upgrade to Snow Leopard. At a minimum, check the list of possible problems below.

Introducing FileMakerFree.com!!!

RCC has created a website that centralizes the free templates available in the FileMaker community. The site, filemakerfree.com, is a webpage that contains all the top free FileMaker solutions for download and immediate use. While several of the solutions were developed by RCC, a number of the solutions are from additional third-parties.

Obviously, free is good! These databases make a great starting point for a more complete solution for your organization. All the templates on this site are unlocked and may be customized to better fit your needs. Compatibility Issues with FileMaker on Windows 7

Finally, Microsoft’s newest member of the Windows family is here. Substantially lighter and supposedly faster – Windows 7 arrives after three years in the making with some nifty new goodies.  Already a huge success over its predecessor, Vista, it is now time for the applications to play catch-up and fix the issues inherited with any operating system upgrade.  If you’re continuing to use an older version of FileMaker Pro, we recommend you do not upgrade to Windows 7.  At a minimum, check the list of possible problems below.
